“CONFLICT” OF SERBIAN AND ALBANIAN PUPPETS

Since its founding, the Party of Labor has supported the just struggle of the Albanian people in Kosovo for national liberation from the Belgrade regime.

However, liberation from the Greater-Serbian boot at the end of the twentieth century did not mean freedom for the people of Kosovo. They fell under the boot of a more powerful master and became another tool in the great imperialist competition in the Balkans. The current tensions over Kosovo, to which the Belgrade regime, with the support of the Russian imperialists, is giving special attention, is in the service of causing more significant conflicts in the Balkans; that is to say, it represents the resistance of Russian imperialism which is trying not to be pushed out of the Balkans. At the same time, it is an effort of aggressive Western imperialism to bring the Balkans under its control, and from which the Kosovo authorities, in their servility and powerlessness, seek protection, not thinking of continuing the struggle for the liberation of the people of Kosovo.

The Party of Labor sees all events in the Balkans that carry the possibility of a more severe conflict not only as an expression of the megalomaniacal and unrealistic aspirations of the reactionary ruling cliques in the Balkans but above all as an integral part of the wider inter-imperialist conflict. In this case, it is the conflict between Russian and Western, primarily Yankee imperialism.

The stance of all revolutionaries in this historical moment must be clear – a decisive awakening of revolutionary consciousness in the subjugated Balkan masses. Those masses who seek to escape from the Balkans in the hope of a better life and those masses who cannot escape from the Balkans before the tsunami of the crisis facing the global economic system. The awakening of resistance in the working class itself, which has long since been shattered and disoriented, and which does not possess a sufficient level of proletarian consciousness, of itsstrength and the possibilities of uniting into a powerful force – a force that will oppose the imperialist occupation of the Balkans and destroy their servants. This force will regain the strength of the Balkan masses, who, as in some previous times, would have contributed to the destruction of the old world. The Party of Labor believes that only the power of the Balkan peoples, unified in struggle, can lead to freedom for said peoples so that they cease to be merely expendable goods, dying for the interests of global predators.
