Stance of Party of Labor

The global capitalist crisis is forcing imperialist countries to divide the world again in order to expand their spheres of influence. Regardless of the excuses used by the imperialists to justify their crimes, the military conflict in Ukraine is the result of intensifying competition between the two conflicting sides, which can no longer be resolved by diplomatic means and empty compromises. Competition for the market, raw materials, transport routes, spheres of influence.

While the reactionary government of Ukraine plays the role of a lackey of the USA, the people of Ukraine are forced to be the main victims of the current imperialist conflict between the USA and its NATO allies on the one side, and Russia on the other. As Russian imperialism invades Ukraine, representatives of Western imperialism hypocritically condemn the attack, ignoring their own incitement to war and interest in the war, and are rapidly trying to group together to continue the conflict with the opposing imperialist sides.

Western imperialism has been stepping up its military intervention in Ukraine for weeks. He has an interest in encircling Russia and has been doing so for decades. Ukraine is a region necessary for Russian imperialism, which it uses to maintain its own security and status in competition with Western imperialism. At the same time, it is a conflict that has not erupted now, and it is only a necessary aspiration of capitalist systems to overcome their crisis with wars. And this conflict will not and cannot end with Ukraine only.

It is clear that this is not a conflict in the interest of the vast majority of the Ukrainian and Russian people, and especially not in the interest of majority of the people who will pay the highest price with their blood and lives. It is also clear that the Balkan nations are already in such a position of dependence that they can be pushed into new wars at any moment. That is why it is in the interest of all Balkan peoples not to join various imperialist alliances in order to die in wars for the interests of the rich. That is why it is in the interest of the broadest masses of the Balkan peoples to refuse to take part in any new war against other peoples. Appeals for peace do not stop imperialist wars, but the creation of a force that fights global colonizers and villains changes the character of the war, aggravates their position of plunder and opens the perspective of peace and unity among nations.
